Here is a little history of this very new congregation. We are the rebirth of a 109-Year-Old congregation formerly known as First Christian Church, Tampa. Tampa-First has served the community faithfully and started several other churches locally, that continue to serve. On May 31st of 2009, First Christian Church officially ended its visible ministry. The congregation voted to sell its assets and use those proceeds to continue to serve the local community, the regional community of Florida Disciples of Christ and beyond through a permanent endowment. By the Grace of our Lord, Jesus Christ and in the Unity that is the Body of Christ, Members of First Christian Church of Tampa voted to Begin Again in a New Congregation that is Celebration Christian Church. We are charged by the Holy Spirit and are Alive in the Word. We have answered His call to “Feed His Sheep” and carry the Light of Christ to all the world.
Celebration Christian Church welcomes you to be a part of a young, energetic and growing congregation. We are small in numbers but huge in spirit. We are a welcoming, sharing and loving family in the Body of Christ. We welcome you to join us in our efforts to follow the Word and “Make Disciples of All Nations” (Matthew 28:16-20).
The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) believe in the ecumenical fellowship of all believers. We invite all believers to the Table to partake in Communion. We Celebrate communion weekly and follow full emersion baptism. There is no creed but Christ. We are Bible based church and “Where the scriptures speak, we speak; where the scriptures are silent, we are silent.”
